DESCRIPTION:On 13 April 2026\, Dmitry Penzar (AIRI\, Russia) will present an overview AI genomic models. \nTrainer: Dmitry Penzar (AIRI\, Russia) \nTopic: Machine Learning in Regulatory Genomics \nDate: Monday\, 13 April 2026\nTime:  12 pm – 1:30 pm\nLocation: Online \nAbstract: In this lecture\, we will explore why machine learning is essential for studying the regulatory grammar of the human genome and review current approaches in the field. We will discuss models used for predicting and generating DNA sequences\, along with their limitations. Finally\, we will examine future directions and explain why DNA language models don’t fully address the challenges they are intended to solve. \n\nThe SNP2Prot scientific training lecture series is a mandatory component of the Scientific Training within the IRTG-PROTEOFORuM. The lectures provide valuable insights into current research topics and methodologies. Recordings of the online lectures will be available on Stud.IP after the event.
