The regional daily newspaper Mitteldeutsche Zeitung reports about the importance and opportunities in plant sciences connected to the research of the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 1664 “Plant Proteoform Diversity”.
With €13.4 million in funding from the DFG, our interdisciplinary team is exploring how genetic changes in plants affect protein functions and traits. By merging expertise in molecular biology, biochemistry, and bioinformatics, the SNP2Prot team aims to uncover how genome-encoded sequence variation lead to structural, mechanistic and functional changes of proteins—and how this knowledge can be used to create more stable and sustainable plants.
