Currently, many researchers are interested in establishing electronic lab notebooks in their groups. There are many different software solutions out there (and even a tool to help you compare the different ones: https://eln-finder.ulb.tu-darmstadt.de/home ) but not all of them are free or keep your data saved on-premise where only you can see it. The ITZ provides an MLU-only instance of the free eLabFTW ELN software (https://www.elabftw.net/ ) so we would like to pitch this to you as the potentially most straightforward and easiest approach. Many groups at MLU are already using it.
As a starting point, SNP2Prot and Agri-Explore are happy to invite you to an eLabFTW demo session.

Stephanie Krüger and Joshua Kraft will present how they are using eLabFTW in their daily research routines — showing their approaches and use cases from labs with diverse needs. Each of them will give a 20-minute presentation, followed by a 20-minute moderated Q&A session.
The goal of this session is to give all interested groups an overview of how eLabFTW can support digital research data management, and to help you decide whether it might be useful for your own lab.
