Bridging the gap from genetic to phenotypic variation
The Research School Network Halle invites all participating doctoral researchers to the 5th network meeting on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Doctoral researchers from Graduate schools in the field of Natural Sciences and Food Economics have the opportunity to get in contact in a stimulating atmosphere, which forsters exchange and creates opportunities for collaboration. The meeting starts with an interactive workshop on Career Strategy in Academia and Beyond and ends with a get-together. Food will be provided for free, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages will be available for a small fee.

Abstract: Success in academia and beyond isn’t just about doing excellent work – it’s also about being ready for unexpected opportunities. In this talk, we’ll explore how to identify your values, strengths, and transferable skills, and how to use storytelling and networking to increase your visibility.
You’ll learn how to craft an authentic career strategy, position yourself for serendipitous opportunities, and explore both traditional and creative application approaches. There will be time for your questions, too.
The event is specifically organized for doctoral candidates of the SNP2Prot PROTEOFORuM and other research training groups in the field of Natural Sciences and Agricultural and Food Economics.
