Do less. Do it faster. Time it right. These are the three core components of effective time management in academia. In this workshop, we will explore strategies for doing less, that is, prioritizing what truly matters and defending those priorities against competing demands. We will discuss how to work faster by unlocking efficiency gains and finding a sustainable balance between pragmatism and perfectionism. And we will look at ways to time it right by setting up productive routines that align fluctuating cognitive energy with the right kinds of tasks. To support real and lasting change, we will also review evidence-based approaches for building new habits and routines. A key focus will be identifying methods that work well for you and finding practical ways to transfer them sustainably into your own work context.
